PRIVACY / COOKIES / ADS

Privacy.

Gameotopia is a small browser arcade. This page explains what we keep, what we don't, and the switches you control.

What we store

  1. If you create an account: your email, display name, and game results. Guest play creates an anonymous account with no personal details.
  2. Private rooms keep player nicknames, moves, and race positions. Rooms become inaccessible after 24 hours and expired records are deleted by a daily cleanup.
  3. Email addresses are verified by a link that expires after two days. If an address is never verified and someone else later proves they own it, the unverified account is deactivated and deleted after 30 days. Verified accounts are kept until you ask us to delete them.
  4. Favourites and personal bests for instant games stay in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.

Cookies we set

  1. Sign-in cookies (access, refresh, and a CSRF token) so your session works securely.
  2. A random gx_cid cookie used only to rate-limit abusive traffic. It carries no identity.
  3. Advertising cookies from Google AdSense when ads are shown; see below.

Advertising

Ads are served by Google AdSense, including short ads between game runs. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choice before personalised ads are shown. Google provides a way to change that choice after the message is active. You can also opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses data at policies.google.com.

Your choices

You can play as a guest without an email and clear your browser storage at any time. To request deletion of an account or ask a privacy question, email [email protected].

Children

Gameotopia is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
